How to choose a decoy bag

The right bag depends more on how you carry decoys than on how many you own. Slotted bags protect painted floaters from scuffing against each other; open backpack-style bags carry more per trip and put the weight on your back instead of one shoulder; and silhouette-specific bags are shaped and sized for flat decoys instead of round ones. Slots protect paint; open bags carry more. Rig'Em Right's 12-Slot Deluxe and GHG's 12-Slot bag each give every decoy its own compartment, which keeps weights and clips from wearing against another decoy's finish. Carry system matters more the farther you walk. A single shoulder strap, like the one on the 12-Slot Deluxe, works fine for a short carry to a blind near the truck.
